Repair Operations on the Inis Mór - Inis Meáin Cable

 The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport has been advised that cable repair operations commenced on the Inismor - Inismeain cable on Saturday 10th September 2016.

The work will be carried out from an offshore platform (Callsign: OCM80) at the following location: Latitude 53’ 07’ 09” N, Longitude 009’ 38’ 13”W, as indicated in the chartlet below.

Corrib Gas Field Subsea Facilities Maintenance and Inspection

The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport has been advised of a programme of maintenance and inspection to be conducted on the Corrib subsea facilities.

This work will all take place within the 500m Safety Zone (refer to Corrib Safety Zone map) and will involve carrying out a programme of maintenance to investigate and repair some of the subsea facilities as required.MN 38 of 2016

The work will commence in mid-September 2016 and is expected to last for about three weeks.

Site Investigation Works at An Daingean FHC, Co Kerry

The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport has been advised that site investigation works are to be carried out at An Daingean Fishery Harbour Centre, Co. Kerry. The work will comprise of drilling multiple boreholes at the locations indicated on the enclosed map in the annex, subject to minor variations. Work is expected to begin on 5th September 2016 and finish on or around 28th October 2016, weather permitting.

Latitude Longitude 52° 8' 11'' N 10° 16' 30'' W

A jack-up barge will be moved to the various borehole locations by the tug “Samson” (Callsign: ZQVL6), and will remain on site overnight during the operations. All appropriate lights will be displayed by the barge at night.

Radio navigation warnings will be transmitted on VHF CH.16 throughout the works.

All mariners are reminded of their responsibilities under the International Collision Regulations and are reminded of Marine Notice No. 17 of 2007, which gives general advice in relation to the activities of vessels engaged in survey work for hydrographic, seismic, fishing research and underwater operations.

The International Regulations for Prevention of Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) are implemented in Irish law by the Merchant Shipping (Collision Regulations) (Ships and Water Craft on the Water) Order 2012 [S.I.
