GLI chairman Bobby Kerr remarked that the festival and competition were a great way to kick off the summer:

"Make sure to fine tune your photography skills and capture the best summer fun image at any of our 12 great lighthouses. I look foward to meeting the winner!"

Yvonne Shields, Irish Lights chief executive, said they looked forward to welcoming the winning photograher and guests "to see the work involved in ensuring safe navigation around the coast of Ireland and to meet the team whose technical and engineering expertise contributes to the development of the maritime economy."
