Razor clams and brown crab public consultations

DAFF Logo final edited 1Interested parties are invited to participate in two public consultations on two inshore fisheries proposed by the National Inshore Fisheries Form.

A proposal for razor claims in North Irish Sea suggests increasing the minimum landing size to 125mm from the current 100mm. The proposal was put forward by the North Irish Sea Razor Fishermen’s Association through the North East Region Inshore Fisheries Forum.

The South East Regional Inshore Fisheries Forum also recommends a minimum landing size of 140mm for brown crab, from the current 130mm minimum landing size. Further details on the Fishing.net; Submission deadline February 8.
