Brexit process stalls due to UK failure to grasp complexities

"In the context of fisheries it is astounding that such uncertainty remains at this late stage of Brexit given that the consequences will be worse for Ireland than any other EU member," Lorcán Ó Cinnéide (IFPEA) has told Inshore Ireland.

He believes that the process has stalled because the UK refuses to appreciate that the issues arising are not a simple as were throught at the the start "and prospects worsened when they decided in January 2017 to leave the Single Market and the Customs Union which was not required by the referendum vote."
